Premier Steven Miles announces $3.2 million to upgrades at Mackay’s BB Print Stadium precinct
The commitment highlights the Miles Government’s ongoing support to developing community sport
It builds upon the $1.5 million committed to build the first stage of a Mackay Hockey Association (MHA) Indoor Hockey Hall and High-Performance Centre in Mackay
The home of Mackay rugby league will receive up to $3.2 million in funding for upgrades under an elected Miles Labor Government.
Speaking today in Mackay, Premier Steven Miles joined Belinda Hassan, Labor candidate for Mackay and Bauke Hovinga, Labor candidate for Whitsunday, to announce the commitment to revamp the BB Print Stadium car park and the addition of a footpath connection along Leisure St.
The BB Print Stadium car park is used by the Mackay Cutters, the neighbouring junior rugby league players, and the South Mackay Sports Precinct.
The $3.2 million investment will future proof the car park, making it more accessible and safer.
This is another example of the Miles Labor Government doing what matters for Queensland by supporting community-based sports and sporting clubs.
It’s part of the Miles Labor Government’s broader investments in community-based sports, including the government’s Fair Play voucher program which delivers families $200 vouchers to assist with the cost of involving young people in sporting activities.
